- Built a lab with 4 VLANs, a Palo Alto virtual firewall and 14 rules that allow only the traffic each zone needs
- Deployed Suricata and Zeek on a mirror port and wrote 5 Suricata rules that alert on port scans and DNS tunnelling

- Fixed 40 routing and firewall faults and wrote the cause in each ticket
- Migrated 18 firewall rules from Cisco ASA to FortiGate with a documented standard and removed 7 that nobody could explain
- Traced 6 slow links to a duplex fault with Wireshark captures and reported each cause to the customer in plain words
- Wrote a Bash job and a Python check that back up 40 switch configurations every night and flag any change
